I understand that the first weeks of parenthood are hard.

There are many reasons why you may have missed out on a newborn session - some cultures require mums to stay home for a couple of weeks, you are sleep deprived and exhausted or you may not have known that the window for newborn photography is for babies younger than 6 weeks.

When is the best age for baby photos?

I am happy to photograph your baby at any age.

The older baby session is for babies aged 7 weeks - 11 months.

Some popular ages to bring your baby in for photos are:

- 3 months: your baby is more alert and some have learnt how to smile and laugh.

- 7-8 months: your baby may have learnt to sit up all by themselves, their smile is bigger as they see the world from this new perspective.

- 11 months: it's nearly your baby's first birthday, this is a great age to document before they officially become a toddler.

How it works

The sessions take place in my Ryde home studio and generally take 1 - 2 hours. Your baby is the boss of our shoot and if they need a feed, nappy change or a cuddle we pause, there is no rush. Use this time to sit back and relax and enjoy watching your baby's first ever shoot.

All sessions include family and sibling photos. For me, these are the most important photos from the session. While you may be tired or you don't feel camera ready, I would encourage you to be in the photos. Exist in the photos for yourself and your family. If the grandparents are visiting, they are more than welcome to join in too.

Over the years I have invested in beautiful outfits and props for babies that I know will photograph well, so there's no need to worry about organising an outfit for your baby before the shoot. You will also have access to my client closet for mum and the kids. These pieces are timeless and photograph beautifully and have been kid tested and approved :) So that's one less thing to prep before our shoot.

After your shoot, you will receive a same day preview via my Instagram stories. Your full online gallery will be ready in approximately 3 weeks after your session.

From your online gallery link, you will choose your digital package and prints. If you have ideas on what you want to do with your photos I would love to hear them so that we can create your dream prints.

Once your print orders are placed, they will take approximately 2-6 weeks to produce.

When your prints arrive, we organise a time for you to take your prints to their forever home then you can enjoy the beautiful prints you have created and relive this special time over and over again.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide outfits for baby?

Yes I do :) I have a range of beautiful outfits for your little one that I know will photograph beautifully.

Are family and sibling photos included in the session?

100%. Family photo are important to me so I make sure they are captured in every session.

What do you do if my baby isn't settled?

Sometimes babies take time settling into the studio environment. It's a new space for them so naturally they are cautious or curious. We take our time and I don't rush the session. If baby needs cuddles from mum and dad or they need to feed or they need a nappy change, we stop. After a while, they will get used to the space and to me :) The more relaxed you are as a parent the more relaxed your baby will be.
